File Photo: Congress MP Manickam Tagore (ANI) Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Monday characterised the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as a 'pet dog' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah. Tagore's remark came amid the central agency raided premises of Congress leader and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel , as part of its probe into an alleged liquor scam linked to a money laundering case involving Baghel's son Chaitanya. "We all know that the ED has become the pet dog of Mr.

Modi and Amit Shah. They can send this dog anywhere they want. Bhupesh Baghel has been a strong leader for the Congress and he has fought these battles.

The Congress party and the people of Chhattisgarh stand with him. We all know that these fake narratives built by the BJP and RSS will be defeated," Tagore told news agency ANI. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera challenged the raids, stating the BJP was attempting to deflect attention from concerns including reciprocal tariffs, economic decline, and alleged voter list irregularities.

"Let BJP know it cannot stop the Congress. We are not scared, we will never be scared," Khera stated in a video message on X. Opposition has consistently accused the BJP of weaponising agencies against them, a charge the party has repeatedly rejected.

Opposition parties refer to the BJP as a 'washing machine', noting how cases against several non-BJP leaders were discontinued after their alignment with the ruling party. Bhupesh Baghel .
