Instead of trying to cut products out of your diet, Nathan Joseph urges people to focus on striking a healthy balance instead. By doing this, your healthy regime is likely to last longer as you shouldn't be craving treats. The TikTok star, who is also a fitness guru, listed Slimming World as one of the plans that may not be sustainable in the long-term as it describes some foods as "syns" that should be avoided where possible.

This can be very effective when you first start losing weight. But when you achieve your target and start eating 'normally' again, you can run into problems. Nathan said: "When they tell you this is bad, there's no way you're going to go near sweets, chocolate or crisps.

You're going to be in a really big calorie deficit which means, whilst you are doing Slimming World, it's got a very good chance of making you lose weight. "When you hit your goal weight, you're going to re-introduce these kinds of foods that you've been missing out on for so long because you haven't learnt to balance them in your fat loss journey. "All of the weight is going to come back, which then gives you the idea that you can only lose weight when you've done Slimming World.

If you eat too much calorie dense treats, of course you're going to put on weight, but if you only stick to healthy foods that aren't considered syns you're going to put all of the weight back on." To prevent this happening, Nathan urges people to try to be realistic. He added: "They key to any fat loss journey is to get the balance right.

" Since the video was shared, it's garnered a mixed response online. Some agreed with Nathan's message and said they'd struggled to maintain their Slimming World results. One person said: "I lost 4st on SW, but the minute I went through a rough patch and was craving.

It all came back on right around the midsection. I quit and am now on counting calories." And another added: "That's what happened to me.

" Others had slightly different views though, with one commenter writing: "Slimming World is a lifestyle change. Lost two stone and kept it off for a year now." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "That's quite a bold comment to make about Slimming World.

Thousands of women have achieved their goals following their plans.".
