Monday, October 7, 2024 Përmet, a town renowned for its numerous tourist attractions, has evolved into a destination not just for summer travelers but for visitors year-round. Alma Hoxha, Mayor of Përmet, highlighted the strong collaboration between the government, local authorities, businesses, and the community to promote tourism throughout the entire year and across all parts of the municipality. “Tourism is our primary focus,” Hoxha stated.
“While we initially aimed to position Përmet as a European tourist destination, today we can proudly say it has achieved that status. Our efforts are geared towards ensuring sustainable and year-round tourism. Përmet remains one of the most visited towns.
” The mayor also noted a significant rise in tourist numbers compared to the previous year. “By the end of August this year, around 100,000 tourists had visited Përmet. The availability of accommodations has also expanded,” Hoxha added.
The 2024 summer season posed some challenges, but it ultimately led to greater success in the tourism sector, positioning Përmet and its surrounding areas as attractive destinations throughout the year..
