Pedestrians and motorists have been battling floodwaters after a weather warning saw thunderstorms descend on the county. Torrential rain poured onto Kilnmead Road in Crawley this morning with cars fighting through the flooded road. The disruption comes after the Met Office warned that torrential rain and thunderstorms was set to hit the North and West of the county this morning - with more on the way.

People also waded through the waters to help vulnerable residents, with two men seen helping an elderly woman and her guide dog cross flood waters.

Crawley and other parts of Sussex were on the edge of the warning which also covered much of the South West of the UK. Another yellow weather warning, this time for rain, is in place in parts of Sussex all day on Sunday. Chichester, Arundel and Worthing are all included in the warning..
