I'm sure I don't have to tell you, but this weekend, President Joe Biden announced that he won't be seeking reelection and subsequently dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. Before dropping, Biden — the presumptive Democratic nominee — faced heavy criticism about his age and perceived cognitive abilities. His opponent, Donald Trump, even challenged him to “take a cognitive test” as an apparent way to prove whether Biden was fit to run the country.
Ironically, Trump confused the name of the person who administered his own test in his next sentence. Concerns around Biden's age came from both sides, but perhaps none louder than red voters. In a poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research , 89% of Republicans surveyed said that Biden was too old for a second term.
So, when Biden endorsed 59-year-old Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential nominee for the Democratic party, there left one obvious head-scratcher...
