Photo: A previous JCI Penticton channel clean up. JCI Penticton is looking for volunteers to join their annual river channel clean up to cap off the summer. The group is inviting anyone interested to gather on Sunday, Sept.

29 to walk the iconic channel and take some of the debris away. "Locals and guest to our community use this channel every summer to float down and enjoy. Unfortunately, some river channel users leave behind garbage and debris in the channel which can contribute to polluting our beautiful waterway," reads the JCI Penticton event description.



"Living in the Okanagan is a privilege, and it is important for all of us to be stewards of this land for future generations to enjoy." The event kicks off at 9 a.m.

at 215 Riverside Drive and runs until 1:30 p.m., and all are welcome to join.
