Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad police on Thursday arrested a 32-year-old administrative employee of a PCMC-contracted school on the charge of sexually assaulting two girl students, aged 13 and 15, after one of the girls narrated her ordeal during a ‘good touch, bad touch' session on Tuesday. The girl, during the session, also told a counsellor that the suspect had sexually harassed another 15-year-old student too. The counsellor immediately alerted the school principal, who informed the parents of the two girls and also lodged a complaint against the suspect with the Dapodi police.
"The suspect sexually harassed the two girl students between Aug and Oct 2 this year. We have registered a case against the suspect, a Kondhwa resident, under sections 4 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. He was arrested within 12 hours of the complaint," senior inspector Nilesh Waghmare of the Dapodi police told TOI.
PCMC 's head of civic education department Vijay Thorat told TOI, "The corporation has outsourced the school to a private organisation. Immediately after the incident was brought to the fore, a case was registered with the police. The school administration has already sacked the accused employee.
" Thorat said he and the officials of the education department visited the school. "We are preparing a report on the matter for appropriate action," he said..
