Despite entering Week 5 off of three straight losses, the New England Patriots are betting favorites to win their upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday — the first time all season they are not viewed as an underdog by the oddsmakers. According to FanDuel , the Patriots open the week as 1.5-point favorites versus their division rivals.
The over/under has been set at 35.5 points. The Patriots being favored has little to do with them showing significant signs of progress lately, but rather with Miami seemingly falling apart in front of all the world to see.
After losing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a concussion in Week 2, the team was beaten in blowout fashion three straight games. On Sunday against the Patriots, third-string quarterback Tyler Huntley will get a second straight start in place of Tagovailoa and injure backup Skylar Thompson. His first start ended in a 31-12 defeat against the previously winless Tennessee Titans , who themselves lost their starting QB to injury early in the game.
The Pattriot’ home game against Miami will be kicked off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct.
