Pune: BJP’s Harshvardhan Patil has kicked off his assembly poll preparations in Indapur by holding public meetings . He appears to have lost patience after no announcement was forthcoming from the Mahayuti about the seat. “Change in Indapur is imminent,” Patil said in a strong message to alliance partner and NCP leader Ajit Pawar , whose party holds the seat.

“I will meet my supporters to know their opinions and hold meeting with senior party leaders like Devendra Fadnavis before making a formal announcement of contesting from the Indapur seat,” he said. The constituency was his stronghold for decades before NCP's Datta Bharne defeated him in the 2014 and 2019 polls. After Ajit Pawar made clear his plans for the NCP to contest from Indapur, Patil said during the LS poll campaign, it was decided within the alliance that Fadnavis will make the final decision about the seat which Ajit Pawar accepted.

Patil also came down heavily on Datta Bharne, NCP’s sitting MLA from Indapur. Amid the friction, he said he was getting calls from other parties to join them. “I have not conveyed my decision as yet,” he said.

BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule had recently said the Indapur leader was free to leave the party if he wished to take that call, to which Patil said, “I do not know why he made such a statement.” We also published the following articles recently Change imminent, says Indapur BJP leader as he prepares for poll campaign BJP's Harshvardhan Patil has started his campaign in Indapur.
