New Britain Night, a celebration of culture, music, and nostalgia that hit all the right notes, was organized by the UPNG ENB Students Association and brought the Cosmopolitan to life in a way that will never be forgotten. Leading into the night, the opener was Cammy Bee, supported by Jay 4, followed by the legendary Tolai rock icon, Wayne Tefatu. Followed by that the legendary Pati Potts Doi, often hailed as the King of Pacific Music, took the stage, delivering a performance that can only be described as mesmerizing.

As the night unfolded, the anticipation in the air was palpable. When Pati Potts Doi finally appeared, the crowd erupted in cheers, their excitement unmatched. It was clear that this wasn’t just another performance, this was a momentous occasion, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many in attendance, including myself, who was witnessing his live show for the very first time.



Pati Potts Doi, accompanied by his own band, flawlessly delivered seven of his greatest hits, including the timeless classics “To Martin” and “Amari Ute.” Each song was a journey back in time, evoking beautiful memories that felt as fresh as the day they were first heard. The performance was nothing short of perfection, with every note and every beat mirroring the exact magic that has made him a legend across the Pacific.

It was as if the radio had come to life, with the sound so pristine and pure that it felt surreal. The energy in the room was electric, the crowd moving in unison, their voices joining in chorus with the legend himself. The atmosphere was wild, a wave of excitement that refused to ebb.

Pati Potts Doi’s set seemed to flow like water, one song seamlessly leading into the next, keeping the audience in a state of euphoric bliss. For me, it was more than just a concert; it was an experience that will remain etched in my memory forever. The night didn’t end there.

Uralom Kania and Sai Kay took the stage, continuing the momentum with their own hit songs, each one building on the energy that Pati had ignited. Their performances added layers of excitement, the music reverberating through the venue, keeping the crowd on their feet well past midnight. As the clock approached 1 AM, DJ Covid took over, his electrifying beats ensuring that the party continued into the early hours.

Tolais, with their unmistakable East New Britain style, closed the night, bringing a perfect blend of tradition and modernity that resonated with everyone present. East New Britain Night at The Cosmopolitan wasn’t just a concert, it was a celebration of culture, music, and community. For those of us lucky enough to be there, it was a night that will be talked about for years to come, a night where legends were celebrated, and memories were made.
