A knifeman attempted to rob a teenage girl. On July 18, a 15-year-old girl walking along Seaside Road in Eastbourne was approached by a man demanding she hand over her possessions. The man fled the scene empty-handed after a passer-by intervened, leaving the girl shaken but unharmed.
It happened at around 9pm A 57-year-old man from Eastbourne has now been arrested on suspicion of robbery. After being interviewed, he was released on bail under strict conditions. A spokesman for the force said: “Anyone with information is asked to get in touch online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1411 of 18/07. “Alternatively, information can be passed to police anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”.
