Vadodara: A portion of the road leading to the Statue of Unity was washed away due to the heavy rain and flooding on Wednesday. The highway near Rajvi Crossing on Dabhoi Road developed huge cracks and had to be closed to prevent accidents. The other side of the road, though, is open for the traffic.

Locals gathered at the spot and many raised concerns, saying the damaged road had been made just a few months ago. This road is a busy stretch as those visiting Statue of Unity take this route. Water from the Dhadhar river seems to have washed away this stretch in the last two days.
