Monday, January 20, 2025 In a strategic move to bolster tourism, the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA) and the Kairuku District Development Authority (DDA) have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on January 17, 2025. This collaboration aims to unlock Kairuku District’s tourism potential by focusing on sustainable development, cultural preservation, and targeted marketing initiatives. Key Initiatives Under the MoU The partnership outlines several initiatives designed to position Kairuku as a premier tourism destination: Additionally, the MoU emphasizes capacity-building programs, including training for tour guides and guest management, to equip local residents with the skills necessary to support and sustain tourism development.
