Friday, August 23, 2024 The countdown is on for the 2024 Adventure Travel World Summit in Panama City, taking place from October 7-10, 2024. Presented by the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), this event is the largest gathering of the year for adventure travel professionals, and registration remains open for a limited time. Each year, around 800 tour operators, destination representatives, adventure travel writers, and thought leaders from around the world unite at the Adventure Travel World Summit to explore the latest travel trends, celebrate achievements, and forge new connections.

This year’s summit is especially significant as it marks the 20th anniversary of the event under the leadership of Shannon Stowell. The milestone will be a time for reflection on the past two decades while also looking ahead to the future, with delegates coming together to shape the next 20 years of the adventure travel industry. For the first time, the 2024 Adventure Travel World Summit will be held in Central America, specifically in Panama City.

The ATTA’s strong relationship with this vibrant adventure travel hub is well established, with past collaborations including research initiatives and events like AdventureNEXT Latin America, held in Panama City as recently as 2022. “Since 2017 ATTA has been working with partners in Panama to increase community-based travel in the country,” explains Gabi Stowell, ATTA’s Vice President , Regional Development. “Along the way, I learned so much about this amazing destination and discovered that Panama is truly a gem, filled with diverse culture and biodiversity, and endless adventure.

In October, the entire ATTA community will gather for the first time in Central America, and I can’t wait for the world to see and experience all the things that made me fall in love with Panama.” Event highlights include groundbreaking ideas from keynote speakers, expert-led panel discussions, a destination marketplace connecting buyers and suppliers, a MediaConnect Session where attendees can pitch story ideas to international writers and editors, and an optional “Day of Adventure” designed to showcase the region’s offerings through thrilling and cultural activities. Partnering with ExpoEventos, the ATTA has teamed up with regional tourism agencies and local tour companies to create over 15 unique trips on October 7, aimed at inspiring adventure, fostering education, and strengthening connections within the adventure travel community.

The final day to book your Day of Adventure is September 13, so delegates are encouraged to register now to secure their preferred experience..
