Singapore’s Pan Pacific Orchard hotel has been named the world’s top new skyscraper by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). Standing 23 storeys tall and measuring 140 meters, the hotel is nestled in Singapore’s vibrant shopping hub and officially opened its doors in June 2023.
Since then, it has garnered international attention. Designed by the renowned Woha Architects, the hotel has secured additional accolades, including “Best Tall Building” in the 100m-199m category, along with three other prestigious awards. The CTBUH, a leading global authority on tall structures, presented these honors during its recent conference held from September 23-27 in both London and Paris.
Pan Pacific Orchard stands out for its commitment to eco-conscious architecture. Its design incorporates solar panels, a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation, and an on-site biodigester to process food waste. Embracing Singapore’s dedication to sustainability, the hotel is enveloped by lush greenery, with towering trees, gardens, and pools enhancing the guest experience.
Impressively, it boasts a green plot ratio of over 300%, meaning the landscaped areas exceed its footprint by more than threefold. The hotel is designed around four themed environments: Forest Terrace, Beach Terrace, Gar.
