Pamela Cecilia “Pam” Bergmark, 65 May 4, 1959 - August 19, 2024 GRAND ISLAND — Pamela Cecilia “Pam” Bergmark, 65, of Grand Island, formerly of Aurora, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m.

Monday, August 26, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Rosary will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island, with visitation to follow from 4 to 6 p.

m. Pamela was born May 4, 1959, in Omaha, the daughter of Edward and Julia Aken. In her childhood, she attended school in Long Beach, California, and finished her secondary schooling in Grand Island, where she graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1977.

Throughout the years, Pam was an avid sports participant in softball and volleyball, where she excelled in competition. This would later prepare her for her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Even though she kept busy with activities, school, family, and friends, she was a hard worker.

One place of employment during her high school years was at Sambo’s Restaurant. On June 7, 1980, she married Rodney Bergmark. Together they enjoyed volleyball, softball, and bowling league, as well as country living, camping, races at Mid-Continent Speedway, and raising their three beautiful daughters.

As a young mother, Pamela was a beloved daycare provider for many years. She loved working with people, so as her children got older, she was employed at Super Foods of Aurora and later at Grain Place Foods Inc. of Marquette.

Pamela never knew a stranger and people gravitated to her loving personality. She would often make lifelong friendships out of what should have been simple passings. Some of her favorite routine activities were playing Bingo, card games or board games, especially Yahtzee, with family or close friends; she definitely had an eye for the competition.

Pam’s biggest achievement and highlight of her life was being a mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She beamed with pride when discussing her three daughters and her grandchildren. She never missed any of their activities and never let them go a day without knowing her love for them.

In coming in contact with Pam, you would often find a friendly conversation. She adored her friendships and was always willing to help anyone with anything, no matter what. In addition, she shared her love and faith for Jesus.

She prayed daily and faithfully. She would encourage others by prayer and always had a kind and caring word for everyone. Her family will best remember her as a devoted Mom and Grandma.

Her memory is treasured by her children, Aimee (Jason) Robinson, Kristina (Cody) Messersmith and Jessica (Dustin) Meyer; her grandchildren, Kinsey, Gage, Jeryn, Emry, Alexandra and Sawyer; and the father of her girls, Rodney Bergmark. She is also survived by her siblings, Theresa (Phillip) Slocum, Edward Aken Jr., Mike (Mary) Aken, Daryl (Carol) Arfman, Andy Aken and Jerry Cantu; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

She was predeceased by her parents. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.
