Bolton comedian Peter Kay left Paddy McGuinness in stitches this morning as he surprised his 'old pal' with a message of support. Peter, who starred alongside Paddy in the hit Phoenix Nights, recorded a message urging the TV presenter to keep going on his ultra endurance cycle challenge for BBC Children in Need. It was played on Zoe Ball's Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Peter said: "Hello Patrick my old pal, keep pedalling, keep thinking about all those children you are helping by riding that chopper "A chopper what were you thinking. We didn't have a chopper when we were at the school. "I love you and am proud of you son, you can do it.
"Get across that finishing line and get yourself a nice garlic bread." Peter finished his message by singing "This is the way to Glasgowrilla". Paddy said: "He cracks me you, that is lovely he cracks me up "That is an absolutely belting message to get in the morning.
" Today, Radio 2 presenter Paddy set off early – at 6.45am - from Ecclefechan on day 4 of the challenge. Peter Kay He’s attempting to cycle almost 300 miles from Wrexham AFC to Glasgow on a Raleigh Chopper, and people have been lining the streets along the way and it’s really spurring him on.
