There is plenty to look forward to next year in the city with a whole host of events planned. Highlights for 2025 include the Women’s Rugby World Cup, a touring planetarium, a hot air balloon festival and the return of annual favourites such as On the Beach and Pride. Last week, Brighton and Hove City Council’s cabinet members gave their support to a programme of events which appeal to a wide range of ages and interests, celebrate diversity and boost the local economy.

Ten festivals The programme features three major national profile events, ten key festivals and more than 150 diverse community or promotional events, spread across open spaces in the city including parks and city streets. These will include Great Escape, with music at venues across the city centre, and On the Beach, with big names performing near Concorde 2. “They also boost the local economy by attracting tourists, generating employment and fostering community spirit – plus, they help to showcase the city’s unique character and heritage.” Popular events return Highlights for 2025 include the return of some well-established events – such as Brighton Festival, the Brighton Marathon and Pride – alongside several newcome.
