Monday, September 9, 2024 During the recent 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga, Pacific Tourism Organisation Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cocker and met briefly with His Excellency President Louis Mapou of New Caledonia. “The focus was on the upcoming SPTO Board of Directors and Council of Tourism Ministers Meetings, set to take place in Noumea from November 12th to 14th, 2024,” Mr Cocker shared. “This event will serve as a critical moment for regional tourism stakeholders.

This collaboration strengthens our partnership and highlights New Caledonia’s commitment to revitalizing its tourism sector. By hosting this gathering in Noumea, we’re creating a vital opportunity for one of our SPTO family members to rejuvenate their industry and spotlight their rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. President Mapou and his team expressed their eagerness to host SPTO and its members.
