share 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Things have come a full circle in Overwatch 2 . Following a whole string of changes, including a major departure from the game’s signature 6v6 formula, Blizzard Entertainment is taking fans all the way back to the beginning. The hero shooter will welcome a brand-new Overwatch: Classic mode, due to take place for three weeks starting 12/13 November , depending on region.

As the name suggests, the nostalgia addition is set to feature the original 21 characters and 12 maps from the 2016 release. All kits and abilities from the past are retained, so get ready to be reacquainted with Hanzo’s dreaded Scatter Arrow, Mercy’s mass resurrection (or ‘rez’, in player lingo), Cassidy’s stun-lock Flashbang, and Symmetra’s teleport ability. On the positive side, there won’t be any nanoblades, hacking from Sombra, or Brigette’s shield bash.

The first 12 maps will also return, with Hanamura, Temple of Anubis, and Volskaya Industries subjecting players to the notorious choke points of assault maps yet again. However, other picks like Dorado, Numbani, Route 66, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar are keeping their reworks from Overwatch 2 , extending to match timing, elevator platform workings, and more. Overwatch Classic is meant to be a nostalgic experience, taking heroes, players, and the game back to moments in the game’s history for limited time events,” said Blizzard in an offici.
