Over a dozen birds were found waterlogged and exhausted in a water trough. East Sussex Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service said they were called to the scene near Crowlink, close to Eastbourne, after 13 gulls were reportedly stuck. One of the gulls was able to be freed and released on site however the other 12 were taken into the rescue centre's care for treatment.

"If you're able to spare a few pennies to help keep them fed and get them fit and ready for release it would be really appreciated." org/. The centre in Whitesmith, near Lewes, is currently running at near full capacity after a busy summer. Over the bank holiday weekend, over 100 animals were given assistance including ducks, pigeons, gulls, foxes, fallow deer, rabbits and hedgehogs.
Over 4,000 casualties have been treated at the rescue centre so far this year..
