For several years, the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.

) has hosted the ‘I Do Vow Renewal’ event, bringing together both local couples and tourists to reaffirm their wedding vows. Last Thursday afternoon, numerous couples and their families gathered at the Historical Museum Fort Zoutman for this special occasion, where they renewed their commitment to each other. Marisol Sanchez, communications manager at A.

T.A., shared that this was the sixth edition of the ‘I Do Vow Renewal’ event.

Previously held at Eagle Beach, this year’s event was relocated to the Historical Museum Fort Zoutman to offer a fresh perspective and to commemorate the two hundred years of Oranjestad. The change in venue aimed to create a more intimate experience, with 75 couples participating this year compared to 300 last year. The focus was on personalized details, ensuring each couple felt unique and that their moment was truly special.

Nilka Franca officiated the ceremony, marking the sixth time A.T.A.

has organized this event, which invites numerous couples to renew their vows. This year, the ceremony was distinctive for incorporating both English and Spanish. Approximately 60 couples participated in the vow renewal.

While around fifty couples had pre-registered, a few were accommodated on the spot. To take part, couples must register through A.T.

A.’s website and travel to Aruba. Among those renewing their vows were Clyde and Anely Robles.

Anely had always wanted to participate, and after 34 years together, they decided to make this dream a reality. They were inspired by friends who had done similar ceremonies abroad, creating a beautiful memory for them. Reynaldo Díaz and his wife, from Venezuela, were also in attendance.

Having lived in Uruguay for the past six years, they chose Aruba for their honeymoon last year. After discovering the event online, they decided to come back to Aruba to participate. They mentioned having loved Aruba for its vibrant, tourist-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for their special occasion.
