Pune: Over 50 manufacturing units from Chakan MIDC have shifted out of the city to other states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka due to poor infrastructure here, claims senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP from Karnataka, Jairam Ramesh . "Despite ongoing road work, basic issues of traffic congestion and potholes continue to plague the area," he said. Ramesh further shared on a social media post, "This has not only caused frequent traffic jams, but also a worrying increase in the number of accidents.

Members of industries from Chakan MIDC confirmed to TOI that companies are shifting out to other states due to poor infrastructure. However, they said there is no concrete number as no report has been framed in this regard.
