Speaking to The Scotsman about the pop-up, the Outlander star explained how the collaboration came about: “The opportunity to work with some other brilliant Scottish producers really excited me, plus I have a real connection with the Kimpton group. "In past years, the hotel has been a base for me whilst producing and shooting my tv show Men In Kilts plus we conducted many gin tastings there whilst working on our Wild Scottish Gin. As an actor, I really enjoy being in the heart of Edinburgh during the festival.

I have worked there a number of times over the years, it's a true homecoming.” While The Sassenach whisky and gin are available to buy online, this is a rare chance to shop the drinks in person. Of this Sam said: “It’s great to have such a central location for people to come and sample our multi award winning products.

With a recent “Best in Class” win at the San Francisco Awards, I’m so proud that my product has beaten all the other well known brands.” Many people visiting the hotel will be there for the world renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the actor had these tips to share for those visiting for the first time: “Find a venue you like. Order a dram or drink from the bar and roll the dice on which show to see.

"The sheer volume of shows available can be overwhelming but if you take a gamble and go something new, you’ll be highly surprised. There is so much talent and you never know who you’ll meet. One of the joys of the festival is meeting new people and hear what they recommend can lead to some fantastic recommendations.

You never know where you’ll end up, probably in a late night comedy club or secluded speakeasy.” The boutique will take over No.33 at Charlotte Square, one of the historic townhouse buildings which combine to make Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel.

A hotel within a hotel, this space has its very own door onto Charlotte Square, drawing room and lounge, which will be home to the retailers unique offering.
