Atmosphere: 16/20 Menu: 17/20 Food: 17/20 Service: 16/20 Value: 18/20 TOTAL: 84/100 There’s a Mexican triangle west of the Everett Turnpike between Exit 6 in Nashua and Exit 11 in Merrimack with, by our count, eight restaurants serving up dishes from or influenced by the cuisine found south of the border. Mrs. Gourmet and I haven’t hit them all yet, but we’re pretty close — and we checked the newest one off our list with a couple of visits over the few months that it’s been open.
Tequila Jalisco replaced Bertucci’s in the standalone building at the intersection of Amherst Street and Somerset Parkway in Nashua. We originally thought that it might be part of a chain (one chain leaves, another moves in), but we couldn’t find any evidence to support that. We did find, however, some indications that the owners have been involved with several other successful Mexican restaurants in the region.
Tequila Jalisco’s four-page menu isn’t the biggest you’ll find in a Mexican restaurant, but it’s got all the standards, and a few sections that make it stand out from the usual. Seafood has a prominent spot. On our first visit, I ordered shrimp tacos ($16.
