Environment Canada’s latest forecast is calling for a high of about 23 C, which would be a record high for Halloween. While Ottawa weather is never cast in stone, Geoff Coulson, a warning preparedness meteorologist at Environment Canada, says most signs indicate the day’s high temperature will top the previous record of 22.2 C set in 1942.
There’s also a good chance that Wednesday’s forecast high of 21 C will top the record for this date of 20.8 C, set in 1989. Coulson noted that there’s a 70-per-cent chance of showers Thursday night, although it’s thought the precipitation will begin later in the evening, after most trick-or-treaters are back in bed.
The frightening weather might come Friday, to welcome in November, with a daytime hi.
