In loving memory ~ Our kind and gentle Viking, Oscar Vigdal, passed peacefully on December 20, 2024, with his daughter, Andrea, by his side. At 91, he entered into the loving arms of his parents, Chris and Kari, and his sisters, Anna and Inga. Born on April 24, 1933, in Fort St.

John, Oscar was a farmer at heart whose roots ran deep in the land he loved. Though the family moved to Vernon in 1978, his heart always remained on his beloved farm in Montney, where he found purpose and peace in the rhythm of the seasons. Oscar had a deep kindness that extended not only to people but also to animals, who seemed to sense his gentle nature.

Whether tending to farm animals or caring for beloved pets, he had a special connection with creatures great and small. In typical Norwegian fashion, he loved to laugh until he cried, sharing joy and humour with those around him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Muriel.

He leaves behind his children, Buck (Sandy), Brenda (Mitch), Colin (Nella), and Andrea (Norm). He was the proud grandfather of Krisa, Tyler, Tiffany, Adam, Tanya, Nicole, Bryce, Kari (Matt), and Kailyn, as well as the doting great-grandfather of Isabella. Oscar's kindness and gentleness were unmatched.

He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his quiet wisdom and generous spirit touched countless lives. He will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to the land, his fondness for animals, and the enduring example he set for all who knew him. A cel.
