Thursday, November 14, 2024 Florida continues to cement its position as one of the world’s top tourist destinations, with new data showcasing a significant tourism surge in the Sunshine State. Visit Florida, the state’s tourism marketing agency, reported that 34.6 million visitors traveled to Florida in the third quarter of 2024, marking an increase of 500,000 visitors from the same period in 2023.

Steady Growth Amid Challenges This marks the third consecutive quarter of growth in Florida’s visitor numbers, with domestic travel driving the increase. Of the total visitors, 25.6 million arrived by air, underscoring the importance of major airports such as Orlando International Airport, Tampa International Airport, and Miami International Airport in facilitating Florida’s tourism boom.



Despite the impact of hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton during the peak travel season, Florida managed to post record third-quarter numbers. Dana Young, President and CEO of Visit Florida, commended the resilience of Floridians. “The hard work and resilience of Floridians have been instrumental in keeping our tourism industry strong, showcasing the best of what our state has to offer,” she said in a prepared statement.
