NRL Don't miss out on the headlines from NRL. Followed categories will be added to My News. Incoming Eels star Zac Lomax has revealed his decision to leave the Dragons was made well in advance of the 2024 season kicking off.

Back in April, Lomax signed a four year deal with Parramatta, ending his time at the Red V despite his contract running through until 2026, with Shane Flanagan’s decision to move him to the wing believed to be a key factor behind his decision. Speaking to Triple M, Lomax explained his decision was made “before a ball was kicked.” “I knew I wasn’t going to be there (St George) but (for) me personally.

I didn’t want to let my teammates down. That’s not what I’m about.” Speaking of his new employers, Lomax noted “they didn’t have the season that they’d hoped” but believes the move is “a good test for myself.
