A SPORTSWEAR giant is set to open the doors to a new location in a major Scots city in the coming weeks. The Glasgow Fort in Easterhouse will welcome the city 's newest Adidas store. 3 A new Adidas store will open in the Glasgow Fort this month Credit: Michael Schofield 3 It will sell the latest gym gear, trainers and accessories Credit: Michael Schofield 3 The new Adidas will be situated between the JD and Sketchers outlets This comes not long after the global sporting manufacturer submitted planning documents for signage at the 8,600 sq ft site.

Selling the latest gymwear, trainers and different accessories, the new store sits between the Sketchers and JD outlets. Centre director at Glasgow Fort, Phil Goodman said: “It’s incredibly exciting that Adidas has chosen Glasgow Fort as its latest destination to open a new store. “It’s no secret how popular the brand is, and we have no doubt the store will prove to be successful with our shoppers – whether they’re looking for a pair of new trainers or getting some of the latest gym wear.

Lingerie giant Victoria's secret is due to open at the out-of-town retail park in autumn . And plans for budget clothing brand Primark to open at the Fort were also approved late last year.

With over 16 million visitors last year, the Glasgow Fort recorded the highest footfall in history in 2023. First look inside new adidas superstore - which is unique to the UK Ross McCall, retail leasing and commercialisation director at British Land, previously said: “We’ve got a strong track record of attracting the biggest retail brands at Fort Kinnaird and Glasgow Fort, and Adidas is another huge name to add to our offering across both sites.

“We’re very excited that Fort Kinnaird is going to be home to the UK’s first The Pulse store and are confident it will be a hit with customers. It’s yet another example of retailers offering unique experiences to engage even more consumers. “This is another clear indication that the biggest brands are looking to expand their physical footprint, and retail parks are an important part of this.

"We’re confident that it will help us increase footfall following a successful 2023, and we’ll continue to evolve and improve our offering with even more new fascias, innovative experiences and services for our customers.” We told in May how the Fort shopping outlet had launched a major recruitment drive as it continues to expand. The venue held the massive jobs fair which offered more than 100 roles at its stores and surrounding businesses.
