A highly-anticipated city centre shop will open next week with a giveaway for the first customers through the door. Sostrene Grene will fling open the doors to its Danish homeware store in Brighton's Churchill Square on November 29 in time for the first December weekend of Christmas shopping. The store will also be giving away a large, tufted rug worth £60 to each of the first 100 customers through the doors as well as a branded goodie bag.

Norma Jacobs, of UK Joint Venture who operate Sostrene Grene in the country, said: “We’re delighted to bring Sostrene Grene to Brighton , a city known for its artistic spirit. Churchill Square (Image: The Argus) "As we step into the holiday season, we invite everyone to discover our collection - perfect for adding a touch of Danish hygge and Scandi-inspired style to the festivities.” Inspired by the Danish concept of "hygge", a concept centred around taking time away from the daily rush to “relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures”, Sostrene Grene sells a range of Scandinavian homeware products.

The brand, first opened in Denmark in 1976, now has 45 stores in the UK and 300 worldwide. The opening event in Churchill Square at 10am will also include live classical music , ballet dancers and "plenty of festive spirit".
