One of the stars of hit US series One Tree Hill has revealed how she is taking a new approach while developing a potential reboot of the series. Hilarie Burton-Morgan is working with co-star Sophia Bush on getting the new version of the show together and has spoken about how the process is already more positive than filming the original. Speaking to PEOPLE , Burton explained that this time around she wants the series to be much more female focused, to reflect the creative force behind it.
She said: "What I can say is that this go-around, being able to work with a team of women and look at these stories...
these characters through a female lens is something that — whether I was doing a reboot or a brand new show or a different movie at this phase in my life, female teamwork is something that is so vital to me." Burton-Morgan, 42, also shared that the stories she wants to tell a very different from ones she wanted to tell when she was in her 20s. She added: "It is the core of anything I've done that's successful.
So I'm excited to be able to team up with people that I look up to, people that I love dearly." News of a potential reboot leaked earlier this year but Burton-Morgan has revealed her hope that it could eventually help with fans' anticipation potentially convincing Netflix to make it all a reality. She said: "The nicest thing is seeing the positive fan reaction to it and all of our friends from the show commenting on posts and just getting to show enthusiasm, because obviously we want Netflix to greenlight it.
" Speaking on their podcast Drama Queens, Sophia Bush also addressed the situation. She said: "Do I wish that the news hadn't leaked before we could announce it was official? Sure. But if it happens, I will be so freaking proud, much like we said, that every single person gets to bring their expertise to the table now.
We've been able to all sort of divide and conquer in the coolest way. And those of us with TV producing experience are having some really exciting conversations." Another star from the show has previously teased what kind of storylines fans would be able to expect in a reboot version.
Jana Kramer, who played Alex Dupre on the series, revealed on her podcast that Bush and Burton-Morgan would reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer respectively with the focus being on how they handle life as mothers. UK fans can stream the original series of One Tree Hill on ITVX..
