Wednesday, January 8, 2025 As part of its commitment to advancing the tourism sector in Oman, the Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) recently welcomed a delegation from George Washington University for an engaging workshop on sustainable tourism. Held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, the event brought together 15 students from the university’s Business Arabic Program along with their faculty, fostering cultural exchange and knowledge sharing. The workshop provided students with insights into Oman’s efforts to achieve sustainable development in tourism, emphasizing OMRAN Group’s significant contributions to positioning Oman as a global tourism hub.

Dr. Salim Al Flaiti, Head of HR Business Partners at OMRAN Group, led the session with an in-depth presentation on the company’s sustainable tourism projects. Following the presentation, an interactive discussion allowed students to explore topics and ask questions, creating a dynamic learning environment.



Beyond the workshop, students had the opportunity to experience Oman’s rich cultural and natural heritage firsthand. The delegation visited several iconic landmarks, including UNESCO-listed sites, which showcased Oman’s unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. This initiative is part of a broader collaboration between OMRAN Group and George Washington University.

The relationship, which began with a delegation visit in March 2024, underscores both parties’ dedication to fostering.
