During the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris , viewers likened one segment to a British . At the Closing Ceremony, a "golden voyager" was rappelled from the top of the stadium and began what announcers called a tribute to the modern day Olympics. Between the "Golden Voyager," and the masked parkour athlete from the Opening Ceremony, over 110 dancers took part in a Cirque du Soleil act bringing the five Olympic rings together.

The dark images, haunting music, and smoke machines made viewers at home compare the scene to the famous British TV show Doctor Who. Fans took to social media to share their thoughts. It’s like a French Doctor Who.

A third pointed out that two of the characters reminded them of "someone from The End of the World and a Cyberwoman." A fourth added: "Man this Doctor Who episode is weird af.

" The 2024 Paris Olympics, which began on July 26, came to a grand conclusion on Aug. 11. The closing ceremony was a star-studded affair with Olympians, celebrities, and fans coming together to celebrate another successful edition of the quadrennial event.

This year's games saw the United States and the People's Republic of China dominate the medal tally with numerous victories and an abundance of gold medals. The opening ceremony was a spectacle in itself, featuring the traditional torch relay that journeyed from Greece to France. Spectators were left spellbound as athletes made their grand entrance by boat down the Seine, Paris' iconic river, to a chorus of cheers and applause.

The Eiffel Tower served as the backdrop for some breathtaking performances, including a comeback performance by Celine Dion, who has been battling stiff person syndrome. Looking ahead, the next Olympics are slated for 2023 in Los Angeles, California. Preparations are already in full swing in the United States, which last played host to the Olympics in 2002 when Salt Lake City, Utah welcomed athletes from around the world.
