The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has restated its commitment to intercede for Nigeria and to continue to make a positive impact on citizens and communities throughout the country. The General Overseer of MFM worldwide, Dr Daniel Olukoya, made this known on Sunday, ahead of the church’s 35th anniversary thanksgiving and Convention scheduled to hold from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18, 2024, with the theme “Power from on High”. The programme will be held at the MFM Prayer City, Kilometre 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Thousands of worshippers are expected to be physically present for the anniversary as well as the church convention which will include activities such as an award ceremony, lectures, and music concerts. The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries is an international church with branches in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, the rest of Europe, the Caribbean and Asia. According to the General Overseer, the anniversary will undoubtedly have significant positive impacts on the nation due to the offering of prayers, including many intercessory prayers.

“You will see that many things will happen after this event. Speaking of our country, there will be peace and stability, and our economy will be able to develop.” The church which had positively impacted lives all over the world through its salvation messages, deliverance prayers, yoke breaking programmes had also empowered lives through its several Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) such as scholarship programmes, food gifting, Men, women and Youth empowerment.

“We also offer scholarships, particularly to first-class students and have completed numerous road constructions. We have provided palliatives to the people, along with other forms of empowerment. “Apart from the spiritual impacts the ministry has made in different areas, the vision the Lord gave our leader extends beyond teaching people how to pray and fast.

It also encompasses guiding individuals to become responsible citizens, both to themselves and to the world at large,” Dr Olukoya, the General Overseer of MFM worldwide noted that he received the vision for the church from God 35 years ago and today the whole world is a witness to numerous manifestations of God’s power over the past three decades. Hence this calls for a celebration for the Church and its members all over the world to show appreciation to God and to pray for God’s continuous blessings going forward. The MFM began in 1989 with a prayer meeting of 24 people held in Dr Olukoya’s living room while he was working at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research in Yaba.

From that small beginning, the prayer meetings attracted many members until it moved to 60, Old Yaba Road where the teeming crowd of believers grew in even more amazing proportion which necessitated yet another relocation. This was when the prayer group was offered and purchased an abandoned slum located at 13, Olasimbo Street, Onike, Yaba. While addressing worshippers at the church in May, Olukoya gave a brief history of the location, now known as the MFM International Headquarters.

He explained that the piece of land with which the Ministry started its international headquarters, was discovered by his mechanic (who later became a member and is today, a pastor in the church), who informed him that the owner of the plot wanted to sell it in 1994. The cleric who bagged a doctorate degree from the University of Reading, England, added that MFM has increased the voltage of prayers in Christianity, among other things the Lord has used the ministry to do in the lives of his people. Last month, General Overseer and his wife received the Presidential Achievement Award from the United States of America.

Speaking on several life-transforming testimonies and deliverances God is doing through the Church, the Regional Overseer in charge of Evangelism in MFM, Pastor Bola Aruna, noted that the General Overseer, Dr Olukoya and his wife Dr Folashade have been sponsoring and encouraging evangelism activities in MFM with a strong welfare scheme. It read, “The GO, in February 2023, initiated a programme tagged Explosive Evangelism Initiative. This programme comprises of 66 evangelism strategies with a good welfare package for converts and the needy.

“Since last year when the programme started, we have won over 100,000 souls new converts. We also have different welfare schemes for the new converts such as food evangelism/carevangelism which involves sharing raw food for people who are in need. “We have Care for Prostitute Converts programme designed for sex workers who have given their lives to Christ.

The head of the team goes to different brothels to preach and brings those who a willing to different MFM programmes and organises deliverance programmes for those who have made up their minds to quit the job. “We also have a special welfare package for area boys who live under the bridge as well as people who are drug addicts.” Members testify of miracles On its various platforms, many of the members of MFM have shared their testimonies of how their lives have been transformed by the prayer programmes organised by the church.

According to Haruna, a converted sex worker, (name withheld) was quoted as saying, “Due to early frustration in life and lack of parental care. I joined prostitution and was in it for 15 years. “I was in Crown Hotel at Ile-Ile in Ketu and I do visit herbalists from time to time and other things.

The evangelism team came for regular visits to preach and pray for us. I was invited to MFM programmes and I came with them, but I still continued in Crown Hotel because of the accommodation issue of where I would stay if I left the hotel. “I was there until I was terribly sick and nearly died.

Sister Ruth prayed for me and took me for deliverance. After the deliverance, I vowed not to go back to the hotel. God healed me and saved my life.

“I met my husband while praying in an intercessory group in another church. The Holy Spirit revealed him to me and also to him. We both agreed to get married, and our marriage took place on Saturday 27th April, 2024.

” In another testimony, a 62-year-old woman gave birth to twins – a boy and a girl – after 35 years of marriage. She revealed that she went through five previous In-Vitro Fertilisation procedures before she finally had the twins. “Her husband, during a testimony session at the July 2024 edition of the MFM Power Must Change Hands programme, according to a video posted by the church was quoted to have said, “We are here in the presence of the whole world to showcase the efficacy of God’s word.

We got married 35 years ago. I’m 71 while my wife is 62 years old. “We have been trusting God for the fruit of the womb.

But to the glory of God, we are here to showcase the beauty of the Lord who wiped away 35 years of bareness.” A former drug addict, likewise narrated how he surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus when the MFM evangelism team came to the Akala area to minister to him. “He was taken to Prayer City for deliverance and was there for about a year.

He joined the evangelism team and went as far as Ijebu Isiwo with other evangelists to preach the gospel. He has been reunited with his family who abandoned him as a result of his addiction and is presently in Ghana” Haruna revealed..
