Olivia Rodrigo arrives in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino-American pop star Olivia Rodrigo arrived in the Philippines for the first time, just two days ahead of her "Guts World Tour" concert on October 5 at the Philippine Arena.The 21-year-old landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on the afternoon of October 3, fresh from her successful concert in Singapore.Rodrigo was accompanied by her boyfriend, British actor Louis Partridge, known for his roles in Netflix's "Enola Holmes" and the fantasy film "The Lost Girls."Before her arrival, Rodrigo shared a TikTok video of herself on a plane, dubbing over a past interview with Cameron Diaz in which the actress talked about growing up around Filipinos and enjoying dishes like lumpia and adobo."On my way to the Philippines!!! I'm sooooooo excited!!!" Rodrigo wrote in the caption.Upon landing, Rodrigo posted a photo of halo-halo on her Instagram story with the caption, "Halo-halo secured!!!! So excited to be in the Philippines!!!"It was on September 10 when Rodrigo announced via her social media accounts that she would be bringing her "Silver Star" show to the Philippines on October 5 at the 55,000-capacity Philippine Arena.Rodrigo's Silver Star show initiative aims to make her performances accessible and affordable, with all tickets priced at P1,500 (including taxes) and a purchase limit of four tickets per buyer.All net proceeds from the concert will go to Rodrigo's Fund 4 Good, a global initiative supporting community-based nonprofits focused on girls' education, reproductive rights, and preventing gender-based violence. The fund is committed to creating a more equitable and just future for women and girls worldwide.Rodrigo, known for hits like "drivers license," "deja vu," "vampire," "traitor," and "good 4 u," has won three Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards. She was named Time's Entertainer of the Year in 2021 and Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2022. Additionally, she earned the title of "Songwriter of the Year" at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards twice, in 2022 and 2024.Her Asia tour also includes stops in Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
