FORT WORTH — Ahead of Saturday’s do-or-die game, Oklahoma State got more bad news. In the pregame radio show, Dave Hunziker announced that wide receiver Talyn Shettron suffered a season-ending injury in practice on Wednesday. Shettron emerged this season as the team’s No.
4 receiver, catching 12 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. Ahead of Saturday’s contest, Shettron was fifth in targets with 29 total behind only Oklahoma State’s three starting receivers and running back Ollie Gordon. Somehow, that news was immediately overshadowed by the season-ending injury of Oklahoma State’s unofficial sixth offensive lineman, Austin Kawecki, who played 104 snaps in the last three games as he filled in at both guard positions.
Kawecki is also listed as the second-string center on the depth chart, although redshirt freshman Jakobe Sanders, a Stillwater High alum, actually played the only nine snaps of his career at center when the backups took over. People are also reading..
