Saturday, August 31, 2024 The Oklahoma History Center Museum (OHCM) is now welcoming applications for those interested in becoming an OHCM Docent. The program, which combines online and in-person coursework, will commence on Wednesday, November 6, and spans approximately six weeks. The training is offered free of charge.

A qualified docent at OHCM is more than just a historian with in-depth knowledge of artifacts and their stories. While expertise is essential for engaging students, professionals, and the general public, the true hallmark of a qualified docent lies in their ability to connect with the audience, making them feel personally invested in the artifacts on display. The OHCM’s training program focuses on understanding the history of the exhibits and mastering the art of delivering impactful presentations that leave a lasting impression on visitors.



Located at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma History Center Museum is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.

m. The Oklahoma History Center is a part of the Oklahoma Historical Society and is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution and National Archives. It is also accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
