Myron Edward (Mike) Ullman III died on Aug. 6 at his Montrose, Colorado, home. He was 77.

Ullman was an enormously successful business executive and a passionate philanthropist. His high-profile management career took him to Asia and Europe as well as the United States. He led JCPenney, Macy’s, the DFS Group, an international retailer, and later joined its Paris-based owner LVMH as chief operating officer where he led a series of acquisitions that established LVMH as the world’s leading luxury brand.
