September 7, 1939 – September 10, 2024 Carol was born on September 7, 1939 in Fort Collins Colorado; and after a very brief illness passed peacefully at 85 years old surrounded by family on September 10, 2024. Carol earned her associate’s degree from Colorado State University where she met her husband of 64 years, Hale Moore. Living in Greenwood Village, Co.
, she worked administratively primarily in the mortgage banking industry. Carol was a super-mom to their children Lindy Moore Phannenstiel (Eric) of Eagle-Vail CO; and Mitch Moore (Stephanie) of Leadville, CO. Carol and Hale moved to Eagle-Vail in 1996 after building a beautiful custom home on Whiskey Hill and resided full time for 26 years.
Many hours were enjoyed in the outdoors hiking, skiing, gardening, traveling, organizing family trips and gatherings, and going on daily walks with Hale. Carol took great pride in her four grandchildren, Molly (fiancé Nathan Depuy) and Max Phannenstiel all in Denver; Kate Moore (fiancé Joel Chavez, Leadville) and Hunter Moore (partner Megan Mascarenaz, Buena Vista). Weekly “Grandma Days” were a favorite for all.
Her impact on these individuals is immeasurable. She also recently became a great grandmother to Faye Marie Moore and Romeo Rey Chavez. Carol was an amazing baker and shared with all a seemingly endless supply of cookies and birthday cakes.
Carol and Hale moved back to Littleton, Co. in 2023 to reside at Holly Creek Senior Living Community. Preceded in death by her parents Fred and Molly Schneider, siblings Eugene Schneider and Marilyn Widman.
