Whispers of an Oasis reunion are par for the course in terms of Manchester's musical landscape, but in recent days the rumour mill has gone into overdrive. In the past few days alone, Liam Gallagher has been responding to growing rumours that an Oasis reunion may be on the cards sooner than we thought, amid reports of a possible gig announcement is due in the next few days. Leaving not-so subtle clues on social media, the former frontman has told fans he'll see them 'down the front', and told them to 'enjoy' one day at time when suggesting dates when an announcement could be due.

And while this isn't the first time Liam has stoked the fire in terms of an Oasis revival, it comes amidst growing speculation that this time, it really could be true. As it stands, the Manchester Evening News understands that the Gallagher brothers are set to take to the stage next summer, with several night at Manchester's Heaton Park in July being discussed with the relevant parties and authorities.

Ten nights at Wembley are also expected to be scheduled as well as dates potentially in Scotland. Further to this, we understand that tickets could go on sale within the next seven days following an announcement penned for the start of the week. Tickets are set to be priced over the £100 mark for each.

Understandably, for a comeback of this size, Manchester City Council and the relevant planning bodies would need to be consulted but we understand Non Disclosure Agreements have been signed. There's also talk of a Glastonbury headline spot (Image: Zak Hussein/PA Wire) Reports have also said that a Glastonbury headline slot could be on the cards, if the reunion is confirmed. But, although it certainly seems promising that an announcement seems imminent, this is not the first time as Oasis revival has felt close to coming off.

While insiders have told the M.E.N.

they expect the huge revelation next week, even a few days away from the expected confirmation of a reunion they still say anything could happen. It comes ahead of the 30th anniversary of Oasis' seminal debut album Definitely Maybe next week, and Noel Gallagher even praised his younger brother's singing during an interview at legendary Manchester record shop Sifters in Burnage where the pair were regulars back in the day. I don't have the same attitude as him," he said. "Liam is a great rocker. If songs were drinks, Liam’s is a shot of tequila and mine’s half a Guinness on a Tuesday.

" Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher's son Gene said he gets 'the feeling' his father would like to see an Oasis reunion. Next year also marks the 30th anniversary of Oasis's second album, What's the Story (Morning Glory), with Liam previously talking about the possibility of touring it in its entirety after the huge success of the Definitely Maybe tour, which saw Liam reunited with Oasis' fellow founder member Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs on stage..
