The Oasis band line-up is all but finalised, it has been reported. Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher are said to have got their former drummer Andy Bell back for the 2025 tour , with guitarists Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs and Gem Archer also lined up. But while that’s most of the band sorted for the 19-date run, sources also claim the brothers are keen to get back the best drummer they’ve had in Beatles legend Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey, 58.
A source told The Sun : ‘Noel and Liam are slowly putting Oasis back together and they’re hoping to get Zak on board for drums. Andy has confirmed he is free for the tour now, with Bonehead and Gem both signed up, too. ‘Alan White, who was the drummer with Oasis until 2004, isn’t returning.
Zak was probably the best live drummer Oasis ever had and to get him back on board would be amazing.’ Oasis have gone through several line-up changes throughout their active years from 1991 to 2009. Bonehead was actually a founding member, but left in 1999 alongside bassist Paul McGuigan, as they were replaced by Gem and Andy.
The band’s first drummer Tony McCarroll left four years after the band formed with Alan White taking over until 2004, when Zak took up the role until a year before their split in 2008. Chris Sharrock took on the drums for their final year of shows. This comes as ticketing chaos rumbles on after Oasis announced they were adding some further London dates to their tour, and fans would get a chance to attend from a private ballot invitation.
While some fans delighted in receiving the email call-up after being disappointed in the initial sale, others were devastated not to make the cut after queuing for hours in August only to be hit with inflated ticket prices. Dynamic pricing is being investigated after fans were told the price of tickets would be around £150, but got into the purchasing section to find they were £355 on Ticketmaster due to the fluctuating costing model. Three hints a secret album is on the way The band said they would be sending the invites out to ‘eligible fans we have been able to identify’, and added that those who were signed into a Ticketmaster account on Saturday August 31 and were able to join a queue for tickets ‘may be eligible to take part’.
The tour will be their first since breaking up backstage at France’s Rock en Seine festival in 2009. In a statement on Wednesday the band said they hoped the new ticket sale strategy will make ‘the process far smoother for fans by reducing the stress and time it takes’ to obtain tickets.
