STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Elvis Tzintzun, the 35-year-old victim of a broad daylight stabbing in Port Richmond, has succumbed to his injuries, according to a spokesman for the NYPD.
At around 12:35 p.m., Tzintzun was found on Maple Avenue between Grove Avenue and Richmond Terrace with multiple stab wounds, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
Police are still searching for the unknown individual responsible for the fatal attack. It is relayed by the NYPD that Tzintzun and the unknown individual engaged in a dispute before the latter used an unknown object to stab the victim multiple times. The individual subsequently fled from the scene.
At the time, EMS responded and removed Tzintzun to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, where he was initially listed in critical condition. The NYPD has since released a photo of the individual who is sought for questioning in the case; the image captured in the vicinity of Maple Avenue and Richmond Terrace.
