Pune: An IndiGo airline's aircraft from Lucknow to Pune was cordoned off and taken to a remote bay soon after it landed late Wednesday night following a threat message posted on a social media platform claiming that an explosive was placed inside the plane. The threat turned out to be a hoax after a thorough check of the aircraft by authorities. The flight (6E-118) landed in Pune with over 100 passengers at 11:46pm.

"We received the message, and CISF personnel immediately cordoned off the flight. It was then taken to the remote bay. A proper check of the flight, passengers and luggage was carried out.



The information turned out to be a hoax. However, all essential protocols were followed," an airport official told TOI. An IndiGo spokesperson said, "Flight 6E-118, operating from Lucknow to Pune, received a security-related alert.

Upon landing, the aircraft was isolated and all passengers were safely disembarked. Ensuring safety and security of our customers and crew remains paramount in all facets of our operations. We worked closely with the relevant authorities, and standard operating procedures were followed.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused our customers and appreciate their understanding."
