This year, Yavatmal's unique idols are taking centre stage on a global platform. A dedicated website, Yavatmalnavaratril.com, created seven years ago to showcase these magnificent creations, is being updated with the latest pictures, and it's attracting visitors from around the world.
Last year, the website received hits from 90 countries, with China and Brazil leading the list, said Chandresh Seta, a software engineer from Yavatmal who works in Mumbai and created this website. "Like every year, we are getting a good number of hits from abroad," he said. Seta returned to his hometown for Navratri to capture the essence of these extraordinary celebrations.
"We took the pictures of idols during the Navratri weekend, which is our tradition," Seta explained. "A huge rush is witnessed on weekends here, so it's the best time to take pictures. These pictures and videos are now being uploaded and are live.
" This year, many popular reel stars, content creators, and social media influencers across Maharashtra have made it a point to be in Yavatmal durin.
