When Leibenstein passed away in 1992, she left a substantial inheritance of $80 million to her beloved dog which was then Gunther III since the Countess had tragically lost her son. Maurizio Mian, an Italian entrepreneur and family friend was entrusted with managing the fortune and he has expanded the wealth to an astonishing $400 million through the Gunther Trust. It has reportedly made Gunther VI, the great-grandson of Gunther III, the richest dog in the world.

The lavish lifestyle of Gunther VI The wealth of Gunther VI is reportedly managed by a board of trustees who are responsible for investing and increasing the fortune. Notably, the board once bought a $7.5 million mansion in Miami from Madonna on behalf of the dog and sold it for a staggering $29 million.

The life of Gunther VI is filled with unparalleled luxury as a team of 27 employees, including a private chef looks after the canine millionaire. He eats the highest quality of stake and travels in a BMW convertible. He even has a private jet and bought a few sports teams including the Pisa Sporting.

He has launched a pop group and has a single album on which he barks along, Is any of it real? Gunther VI and the money is real, but the story of the Countess and Gunther III receiving the money has been fabricated. In reality, the money came from Mian’s family and Gunther III was the dog of his then-girlfriend and the inspiration behind the whole thing. According to reports, Maurizio Mian is the heir of the Italian pharmaceutical company Istituto Gentili and the story of Gunther and the trust was created to find a way through the tax laws in Italy.
