Friday, August 23, 2024 Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (MoTCE) has embarked on a strategic initiative to boost tourism in North Bali, a region known for its hidden gems yet often overlooked by mainstream tourists. As part of this effort, the MoTCE recently hosted a media familiarization trip aimed at showcasing the unique attractions and experiences North Bali has to offer. The media trip highlighted key elements of the Buleleng-Banyuwangi package, a central component of the broader 3B travel programme.

This initiative focuses on promoting Buleleng (North Bali), Bali Barat (West Bali), and Banyuwangi (the gateway to East Java) as must-visit destinations for both local and international travelers. One of the standout attractions in North Bali is Pemuteran Bay, where visitors can explore a tranquil underwater temple garden, which is also an active site for coral restoration. This destination, along with Lovina Beach and the picturesque waterfalls of Munduk, underscores North Bali’s rich natural beauty and its potential as an eco-tourism hotspot.

For those seeking accommodation, the region offers the Handara Golf & Resort Bali, an eco-friendly retreat surrounded by lush mountains and meadows, perfect for travelers looking to immerse themselves in nature. Gede Dody Sukma Aktiva Askara, head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, emphasized North Bali’s commitment to eco-tourism. “Our tourism development is deeply intertwined with community involvement.

Here, visitors can experience the authentic life of local people and see firsthand the preservation of our cultural heritage,” Gede Dody remarked. Current conservation projects in the area include coral reef and turtle habitat preservation, as well as extensive tree planting efforts. The Buleleng-Banyuwangi package was recently promoted at the Tourism Destination Sales Mission in Jembrana, Bali, signaling a concerted effort to market North Bali as a premier destination for eco-conscious travelers.

Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, has pledged to introduce more 3B travel packages, aiming to create new travel patterns that will bring greater attention to Bali’s less-explored regions..
