Luxury department store Nordstrom said it will close two Massachusetts locations in the next few months. Another national retailer is set to move into the locations. The Northshore Nordstrom at 210 Andover St.
in Peabody will close on Jan. 31. The South Shore Plaza Nordstrom at 250 Granite St.
in Braintree will close on March 8. The company said the leases for both locations are set to expire, and it will work with employees to find new positions in the company. “Decisions like this are never easy and we understand the impact they have on our team members,” Nordstrom said in a statement to WCVB.
“We’re committed to taking care of our employees through this transition, which includes supporting those that are interested in finding another role within Nordstrom.” DICK’S Sporting Goods will take over the former Nordstrom spaces, with those stores set to open in 2026..
