Ranchi: Ranchi is reportincing a high number of viral fever cases, with patients arriving at OPDs with complaint sof high fever, body ache, and respiratory issues. Civil surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar said, “We are experiencing an unprecedented increase in viral fever cases. Our OPD is under considerable strain as we work to manage the growing number of patients.

This rise is concerning and seems to be linked to recent weather fluctuations.” The OPD of Sadar Hospital is seeing over 60 viral fever cases daily. Health officials advise against self medication without precautions.



Raj Hospital has seen an increase in bed occupancy, rising from 100 to around 120 over the past week. Hospital officials attribute this rise to the surge in viral infections. Orchid Hospital is experiencing a similar trend, with over 20 cases related to viral infections being checked daily.

Hriday Lakshan, assistant general manager at the Hospital, said, "Over the past ten days, our hospital has seen a spike in cases of viral infections. This increase is attributed to recent changes in the weather, which have contributed to the surge in viral cases. Taking precautions is essential at this time to stay protected from viral infections.

" At Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), cases have increased by over 10%. Dr Rajeev Ranjan, the public relation officer of Rims, said, "In the past week, there has been a noticeable increase in cases related to viral infections and coughs. Many patients are reporting severe symptoms, including high fever and respiratory distress.

" Priya Singh, a resident of Hermu, shared her experience, saying, “I came to the hospital sa I've been feeling unwell for two days with a high fever and severe body aches. My family members are also dealing with similar issues."
