Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Mukesh has said that there is no power group in the Malayalam film industry and that no one can be eliminated. Mukesh mentioned that no one has approached him with any complaints . “If anyone has harassed women , they should be brought before the law.
Many people in my own family are involved in the film industry. No one has come to me with any such complaints. There is a need for a good working environment for women,” said Mukesh, who is also the Kollam MLA.
He said the women who have given statements before the commission have made it clear that their privacy should be maintained. Hence, the govt would look into all these aspects and act appropriately, he said. The actor said there is no power group in the Malayalam film industry and added that such groups cannot survive.
The quality of the actors is paramount and no power group can indulge in this. Several newcomers have come and are making huge hits in the industry. They are not controlled by any power groups, he added.
Mukesh said that the complaint against Ranjith should be investigated. He said it is not fair to demand resignation whenever an allegation is levelled against a particular person. If that is the case, then no political leader would be able to continue in their posts since they face thousands of allegations in public life, he said.
